At the South Staffordshire Centre we try to run a friendly community of like minded people. We are made up of many generations of friends who share the love of exploring in our caravans. We are one of the 70 Rally Centres listed in the Caravan Club Sites Directory and handbook. As a member of The Caravan Club, you may join a centre of your choice. Joint and Family members are automatically members as well. Caravan club members are welcome at any centre rallies whether registered to a centre or not. |

What is a Rally?A rally is a gathering of some of the Centre members at an organised location. The number of caravans will vary from site to site and is also dependant upon the occasion. For larger occasions where there is organised entertainment it is usual to see a bigger turn out. There will be one or more Rally Marshall whose job it is to see that all of the Caravan Club rules are met and also to ensure that you have an enjoyable time. Their service is given entirely voluntary. What can I expect when I get there? There will be directions to the site in the rally book or on this site and as you near the venue you will also see SSCC markers. You will be met by a Rally Marshall who will advise you where to site your Caravan and car. They will welcome you and also give you information as to where the fresh water, rubbish and toilet disposal points are. They will also give you an envelope with your rally details on. This will detail the cost to you which is payable to the Rally Marshall. This also acts as your insurance for the rally period. If you have requested one, there will be a Rally Plaque included in the envelope. There will also be information about the weekends activities and generally a quiz. What happens at a Rally? This depends on the occasion, venue and the good old British Weather. It can vary from Organised walks around the local area, Sports, Volleyball, Fishing, or Boule competitons, we've even had a 'scarecrow' building event! We generally end the evening with a 'socials' at which much merriment and 'Disco to the sound of DT' occurs. Needless to say these can be great fun and all the hard work that the Rally Marshalls put in make these fantastic occasions. At the end of the Rally we all get together to say goodbye and if you have not had the chance to take the mickey out of someone - that is generally the time that it is done! This get together almost always happens at 11am on the Sunday and is known as 'Flag'. It does NOT involve singing round the maypole, dancing with knotted hankies or any such like! It is a cuppa to say thanks, share a few anecdotes from the weekend if there are any and tell everyone of any events coming up in the near future. How do I book onto a Rally?Choose a rally that you like the look of from the centre handbook and call the Rally Marshall named for that Rally. Alternatively you can contact through this site for more details. Please be aware that you must be a member of the Caravan Club to come on a Rally. You do not however, have to be a member of the South Staffordshire Centre. You may come as a Visitor as many times as you wish. You will be asked to complete a booking form and send it to the Rally Marshall for the Rally. This details all of your party and any requirements that you might have. It allows the Rally Marshall to plan for numbers and ensure that the safety aspects of running the rally are taken care of. You will be required to send a £2 deposit with your booking. We close bookings for major rallies 14 days before the event. However, if we do have spaces and it is humanly possible if you call at short notice we will always try to squeeze you in. You may not get a rally plaque but at least you can be there! If you wish to contact someone about any of our Rallies please send an email to The Centre Secretary by clicking on the link. |
